Our Test Setup

We tested the Novix Echo Hunt Ready System while hanging in a poplar tree overlooking a food plot. Both Adrian and I spent time hunting from it. Adrian sat through an evening hunt, and while she said her upper and lower back started to feel a little tired toward the end, she was also holding her crossbow on a Primos Trigger Stick the entire time — because we were watching deer virtually every minute of the hunt. We were trying to minimize extra movement, so I’m sure some of that soreness came from staying in that same position for a long stretch.

Adrian was stuck in this position for most of her hunt because we had deer everywhere!

I love how spacious the platform feels. When you flip the seat up, there’s plenty of room to maneuver, adjust, or stand comfortably for long periods. That extra space adds a hefty dose of confidence — whether you’re drawing a bow, shouldering a rifle, or just shifting your stance to stay comfortable.

First Impressions

Out of the box, the Echo Hunt Ready System feels like it’s built for hunters who don’t want to overcomplicate things. It includes the Echo hang-on stand, four climbing sticks, quick straps, and a fall-arrest system — everything you need to get up a tree and start hunting.

The first thing that stood out to me was how comfortable and stable the platform felt once set up. It’s a great size — plenty of room to move around without feeling cramped, yet not so big that it becomes a chore to pack, especially since it’s under 12 lbs. When I’m standing, turning, or shifting my weight, I never feel unsafe or wobbly. That sense of security is enormous when you’re 20 feet up or higher.

Packing It All Up

The quick straps are great for eliminating extra sounds while carrying the stand system

One of my favorite things about this setup is how easy it is to pack everything together. The included quick straps let you lock the climbing sticks tight against the platform — and they stay quiet while you’re walking in—no rattling, no clanking, no frustration. The system carries well on your back and doesn’t feel awkward, making getting to your spot a whole lot simpler.

Hanging the Stand

The stand isn’t hard to hang by any means, but I quickly realized I should have picked up the EZ Hang Hook from Novix. It’s a small accessory, but it would make a big difference. With that hook, you can hang the stand temporarily while you attach the strap — freeing up both hands and making the process smoother and faster. It’s not a deal-breaker by any stretch, but if you plan to move stands often, that hook would be a worthwhile addition.

Add this to your purchase and if it's out of stock, go straight to Amazon

In fact, if you’re planning multiple setups, you could easily leave an EZ Hang Hook already in position and move your stand from location to location.

Once It’s Up

After it’s mounted, the sturdiness of this stand really shines. The connection to the tree is rock-solid — no shifting, no creaking, and no second-guessing your setup. Combined with the generous platform size, it gives a level of confidence that’s hard to beat in a lightweight hang-on.

We've enjoyed hunting from the Novix Echo Hunt Ready System this season

After multiple hunts in this setup, both Adrian and I came away genuinely impressed with its performance in the field. Adrian spent most of her sits entirely in the seated position, which she found to be a bit limiting over longer hunts. In contrast, I appreciated having the flexibility to shift my weight, change positions, and stand comfortably on the generous platform—something that really matters during bow season when movement is critical.

That said, we both agree: this isn’t a stand designed for long, all-day sits. I’ve hunted from stands with more comfortable seats and thicker pads, but that’s not the purpose here. The Echo is built for mobile hunters who prioritize weight, packability, and quick setup. It’s not trying to be the cushiest treestand on the market—it’s designed to be quiet, efficient, and effective wherever the sign takes you.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Spacious Platform: 30″ × 19.5″ platform provides plenty of room to move, especially when the seat is flipped up.
  • Comfort & Stability: Feels secure and comfortable for extended sits; solid connection to the tree.
  • Easy to Pack & Carry: Climbing sticks strap quietly to the platform; lightweight and mobile-friendly.
  • Rapid Deployment: Zero assembly required; get in the tree quickly.
  • Leveling Features: Platform can be adjusted front-to-back and side-to-side for uneven trees.
  • Sturdy Construction: All-aluminum build, 300 lb weight rating; rock-solid once mounted.
Cons
  • Potential Fatigue on Long Sits: Sitting for hours may cause some discomfort (especially if holding gear like a crossbow).
  • Hanging Setup Could Be Easier: Optional EZ Hang Hook would make hanging faster and simpler.
  • Mobile System Trade-Off: Less platform size/comfort than a full ladder stand for long, stationary hunts.
  • Carry Weight/Footprint: Four climbing sticks plus the stand add extra weight compared to ultra-light setups.
